WEDNESDAY 29th JULY 2009 (POSTSCRIPT)

POSTSCRIPT

Don't know if it's been an interesting ride for you but it certainly has been for us!

Full of frustration and at times despair. Some good memories though of fabulous people and places.

Would we trade any of it .... probably not. It wasn't a 'holiday' in any sense of the word but we certainly learned a lot about a different way of life. We saw things we would never have seen had the trip gone without a hitch. We experienced some of the difficulties people have to live with which has given us a new appreciation of our life at home. It also taught us a lot about being 'patient' and that all good things come to those who wait.

The HORS - do we love him or hate him? Of course we love him. We knew by doing this trip on an 'older' bike that we would have inherent difficulties, no question. That's part of the territory.

We look forward to his arrival at home and to welcome him into the stable.

One thing that kept us going when the chips were down were your 'stupid' comments (smiley face). We loved all of them. Thanks for that.

  1. It certainly has been interesting, but at times had us wondering whether we'd ever see you again.
Maybe you could now call your steed HORSE. The E being for "Exported". First from Ukraine and now from Turkey.
I'm looking forward to seeing the old beast of burden you've been travelling with. It'll be nice to see the HORS too!

  2. Paul & Kerry. Thanks so much for sharing your journey and life experiences with us. I don't know what I will do now to fill the void left, such has been the experience from this side. It has truly been great to observe all the highs and lows as they came along. Looking forward to the final chapter on this blog when you get home and the HORS is on Tassie roads.

  3. Kerrance & Paulinski-where has the time flown to?-up the back of the HORS + beyond. Our evenings of sharing Shiraz with you (well…on your behalf) are to be no more in the blogosphere- parting is such sweet sorrow. We had so much fun also thank you. Would have loved to been with you – at the markets, looking at the scenery or the historical places-ANYWHERE but near the HORS (a sole Jax opinion naturally!). Looking forward to sharing Shiraz, pix and listening to your stories… soon. Very happy that you are both safe and WELL! xoxo

  4. Yes, we have all learned something from this adventure...I've learned that I'm a bit of a sadist, for instance. Do it again, will you? It was good.

  6. Thanks for sharing your travels, your adventures had us all checking in to see what happens next. Yes, HORSE, "e" for exported most appropriate. You came so far after Paul got on his knees and prayed to the Dnepr gods. Tassie will never be the same!
